Hi, I’m Rachel — a nurse with over 10 years of experience, an author, and a holistic health educator.

For more than seven years, I worked in hospice care. I sat at the bedside of chronic disease — and I saw, over and over, how much of that suffering began decades earlier with metabolic health nobody talked about. That experience lit a fire in me: to help women address the root cause while there’s still so much life left to live.

Then it got personal. In my mid-50s, I was the one with the climbing labs, the restless legs, the hot flashes, the fatigue. So I applied everything I’d learned — intermittent fasting, maté, diverse plant-based fiber, and a real understanding of insulin.

Today, at 56: my labs are normal. My restless legs are gone. My hot flashes are gone. I released 30 pounds without dieting, my inflammation has dramatically improved, and I have more energy than I’ve had in years. I honestly feel like I’m aging in reverse.

I got my life back. And I built Rooted Reset to help you get yours back, too.

What Exactly Is Insulin Resistance?
Insulin is the hormone that escorts sugar out of your blood and into your cells for energy. When your cells are bombarded with too much insulin for too long — usually from decades of processed food, stress, and constant snacking — they stop listening. Sugar stays in the blood, energy stays out of the cells, and fat storage goes up. That’s insulin resistance: tired cells, tired you.

How Do I Know If I Have It?
You don’t need to wait for a diabetes diagnosis. I'm Over 40 - Haven't I Missed My Window?

No. Diets fail because they fight your hormones with willpower. I teach you to work with your body — timing your meals, feeding your gut, calming your insulin — so the results come from biology, not white-knuckling.
